On August 30 and 31, the Google Analytics Partners Summit was held in San Francisco, an annual event that brings together some of the top companies in the digital analytics industry. The Bilbao company LIN3S had the privilege of attending such an exclusive event. We spoke with Iñaki Gorostiza and Iñaki García about the novelties presented there.
Is Lin3s the only Basque company in this Google Analytics Summit?
No, we had the opportunity to coincide with Guillermo Vilarroig, who has been attending this event uninterruptedly for the past 11 years.
There are currently fewer than 500 Google Analytics partners in the world and having two Basque companies among them is something we should be proud of.
What advantages can Lin3s take to attend this event? What fruits do you expect from your presence here?
Having been invited to an event as exclusive as the GAPS is a true privilege for us. We have heard firsthand all the news that will arise in the coming months and we have had the opportunity to talk and share ideas with the most important companies in the sector. The cases of success that have been seen during the conferences are a priceless source of inspiration that makes us return to Bilbao with a head full of new ideas.
What can you tell us without breaking the clause of confidentiality that Google usually imposes on this type of events?
As you commented, most of the topics that have been treated at the event are strictly confidential.
Broadly speaking the talks were grouped into three broad themes: Applications, attribution and advanced analysis, Labeling, optimization and visualization of data and Fundamentals about the Suite 360.
We would especially like to highlight the effort Google is making to measure the Customer Journey of visitors in a complete way. The news that will be presented at the level of tracking devices and environments, left all the attendees really amazed.
On the other hand, another strength has been the new approach to customer reporting and profit, versus the old one that primed users and goals. The conference on Customer Lifetime Value or how to measure the value of a customer's entire life cycle in order to define user clusters based on their importance to our business was deeply inspiring.
We were also able to see firsthand the next developments that we will be able to see in some of the tools of Suite 360 such as Google Tag Manager or Google Optimize. Most of the improvements respond to the suggestions and requests they have received from their own users, so we think they will be really welcome.
Aside from going to the Google Analytics Summit, since you're in San Francisco, are you taking the trip to create other synergies?
Definitely. After the event, we had the opportunity to attend a day of immersion in Google Tag Manager and Google Optimize that was held in the offices of Google in San Francisco. It is a deeply interesting event since you have the opportunity to chat with the technical and business team that works daily in the development of the tools.
In addition, some partner companies shared with us real success cases in which the tools are used intensively in projects of great technical exigency/
Latest Tech News.
Like any Google event that boasts, there is also time for networking and even to taste a glass of wine on a terrace that seems to float above the sky of San Francisco.
Finally, some final reflection.
During the GAPS we have met the best Marketing and Online professionals in the world, the agencies that work with the most important clients in incredibly complex projects.
We have the firm feeling that the Basque agencies are competing for you to you with them, our teams have people who are at the same level of knowledge, and even a step above in motivation. This undoubtedly makes us very optimistic about the health of digital marketing in our country.
The Internet is the most dynamic sector that exists, today is already yesterday, and you have to be willing to learn every day. We have come from the GAPS with the backpack loaded with ideas that we are going to put into practice right now, and we can only thank Google and other partners for making this experience something unforgettable.
